Continued research has conclusively shown that we are in danger of ruining forever our low-land peat bogs and that peat free alternatives for horticultural use must be found, and the gardening public persuaded to use them. This is backed wholeheartedly by the UK Government who continue to put pressure on the use of peat for horticultural use.

A recent “White Paper” has now set out new targets for all materials used for growing media and soil conditioners to be peat free by 2020 for amateur gardeners and 2030 for professionals – there is still much to be done in persuading gardeners to switch to alternatives, particularly those that use recycled green waste materials that would otherwise have gone to landfill sites.

One such alternative is the Pro-Grow Range of Soil and Lawn conditioners. Soil Association and PAS100 certified these peat free, organic conditioners are produced entirely from recycled garden material. The range, developed by Veolia Environmental Services is distributed throughout the UK by Mendip Forestry Limited and made under rigorous quality standards from recycled garden material collected from their 26 Hampshire Household Recycling centres.

Pro-Grow Soil Conditioner has been acclaimed by some of the UK’s most respected gardening experts and has also been used in a number of high profile national projects including The Eden Project in Cornwall and at The Sir Harold Hillier Garden and Arboretum in Hampshire.

The Pro-Grow Range is distributed by Mendip Forestry Ltd and is available throughout the UK form national Garden Compost Suppliers, Creative Garden Ideas – CPL Distribution Ltd. They will deliver the complete Pro-Grow range to your door FREE OF DELIVERY CHARGE to homes on the UK mainland.
